Fruit Infused Water: Not Only For Summer

With the summer heat approaching, we all know how difficult it can be to ensure that we stay healthy and hydrated. It’s recommended that we drink about six to eight glasses of water a day, but sometimes it can be difficult trying to incorporate this into our busy schedules, and albeit, a little boring!

We needed something that was quick and easy to make. Introducing a beverage that ticks all our boxes – healthy, energising, and cool – fruit infused water.

It’s really easy to make as all you need is some fruit and water (and something to hold everything in).

We decided to use a classic summer fruit: the strawberry, and combine it with mint to really bring out all the flavours.

Strawberry Mint Infused Water

  • 10 strawberries
  • Half a cup of mint leaves
  • Chilled water (enough to fill your jug!)

Start by chopping up your strawberries. Once chopped, they’ll release their flavour. You can chop them however you want, but we think slicing them looks more presentable.

Put your sliced strawberries into your jug, and add in the mint leaves.

Quick tip: if you enjoy more potent-tasting mints, then tear the leaves before you add them to the jug. This will help them release their flavour better.

Add in the chilled water, give it all a stir, and let it sit for about 2 hours.

Top up the jug with water throughout the day. Make sure to discard the strawberries and mint after 12 hours.

Remember – the less water you add to the jug, the stronger the taste.

You can also switch up the ingredients too – add more berries to see how it affects the flavour, or swap them out entirely for another fruit (we can’t wait for blackberries to be in season)!
